Prajnaparamita embodies the perfection (paramita) of knowledge (prajna). Golden in colour, she carries her two essential attributes: the vajra (the diamond thunderbolt) and the book containing the Prajnaparamitasutra. The deity is surrounded by eight great bodhisattvas of Mahayana Buddhism. At the bottom we recognize from left to right: Nila Acala, Caturbhuja Avalokitesvara, Buddha Sakyamuni, Green Tara and a monk performing a ritual in honour of the goddess.
